International practical experiences and policy recommendations for boosting fertility rates

  • The decline of fertility rates has become a global issue, impacting socio-economic development profoundly. This paper analyses international policies to summarize the best practices and policy recommendations for increasing fertility rates. It advocates for comprehensive advancement in fertility health promotion and education, emphasizing sexuality education, contraception awareness, and pre-pregnancy healthcare to provide women with comprehensive health support and resources, aiding them in making informed reproductive decisions. Additionally, the provision of adequate childcare service for parents is recommended to promote reproductive health and sustainable social development. Furthermore, policies integrating social security, childcare, and women’s reproductive health can effectively enhance fertility rates or fecundity. Lastly, policy design and implementation should consider cultural, economic, and social contexts of each country to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability. Future policy development should draw on international success stories and best practices, strengthen policy evaluation and monitoring to achieve higher fertility rates.
