Abstract:
Objective To investigate the sleep status and influencing factors of children aged 0-3 years in Wuhu city.
Methods Stratified sampling method was adopted to select 4 counties and districts in Wuhu county,Wuwei county,Jinghu district and Jiujiang district, and then 11 community health service centers with more than 400 live births per year were randomly selected. Questionnaires were distributed to parents of children who came for health examination.
Results The incidence of sleep problems in children aged 0-3 years in Wuhu city was 23.09%. There was no difference in the incidence of sleep problems between children of different genders. The incidences of sleep problems such as mouth breathing, screaming and crying during sleep were higher in urban areas than those in rural areas, and the difference was statistically significant(
P<0.05). According to univariate analysis, the effects of mood, sleep posture, respiratory diseases, eating before sleep, teats or other items before sleep, family residence, frequent changes of caregivers, and vitamin D consumption on sleep problems of children aged 0-3 years old were statistically significant(
P<0.05). Through the multifactor logistic regression analysis, there are 8 variables into the regression equation of the children's sleep problems, factors related to children's sleep problems for lateral calm mood, sleep positions before sleeping, not eat before bed,not contain nipple or other items before bed, living city, caregivers unchanging, occasionally taking vitamin D.
Conclusion The incidence of sleep problems among children in Wuhu is consistent with the national level. To ensure a good sleep quality for children, medical workers should educate more,so that parents of children can master the correct maintenance knowledge.
