Abstract:
Objective To study the situation of maternal and child health (MCH) institutions that had reformed according to the request of National Health and Familv Planning Commission.
Methods Through the National Maternal and Child Health Institutions Management System, the basic situation of the national maternal and child health institutions and the reform of these institutions in 2017 were collected.
Results 285 MCH institutions had reformed their department system. The percentage of health professionals, business income, yearly number of clinical patients and discharged patients of child healthcare department occupied the highest proportion in the MCH institutions at the provincial and municipal level, while the percentage of health professionals, business income and yearly discharged patients of maternal care department occupied the highest proportion in the MCH institutions at the county level.The indicators of the MCH institutions that had reformed were better than those had not reformed.
Conclusions The department system reform was effective, and the situation of departments vary from level to level.
