Methods A total of 1384 male children from 5 primary schools, 5 junior high schools and 4 senior high schools were recruited and examined.
Results Genital diseases examination was conducted in 1384 male children aged 6-18, the top three genital diseases were redundant prepuce (25.3%), phimosis (16.3%) and adherent prepuce (4.0%). The incidences of these three diseases decreased with the age (
χ2= 74.549, 127.973, 18.789,
P<0.001), while the incidences of varicocele increased with age (
χ2= 14.939,
P=0.001). There was no significant difference in concealed penis detection rate among different age groups (
χ2= 4.737,

Conclusion Redundant prepuce and phimosis are common diseases among male children in Liuzhou city. Cooperation between schools and hospitals should be strengthened, in order to promote reproductive health education and service among children and adolescents.
