Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between temperament type and weight gain in term small gestational age infants.Methods From July 2015 to March 2016,term small gestational age infants admitted to NICU in our hospital were collected,and when they were discharged from hospital for 1 month,2 months and 3 months,their temperament measurement was measured by temperament questionnaire of small infants. Fifty-two term small gestational age infants who were breast-feeding were selected,their birth weight,body weight at 1 month,2 months and 3 months weight were recorded.Results The weight growth of term small gestational age infants with both the easy-trophic type and the middle-trophic type was faster than that of the difficult-trophic type and the middle-trophic type. Chi-square test showed that the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). It indicated that there was a significant correlation between different temperament types and weight gain in term small gestational age infants.Conclusion There was a correlation between the temperament type of term small gestational age infants,and easy-trophic type and middle-trophic type were more conducive to weight gain.
