Abstract:
Objective To study the growth of the full-term small for gestational age infant(SGA),to provide the basis for the effective intervention and education of the premature infant(PI).
Methods The full-term SGA group included 163 singleton alive fullterm SGA delivered in our hospital during June 2016 to June 2017,387 cases were randomly selected by birth weight of 10% to 90%of its spaces appropriate for AGA and taken as a control group. The body length and body weight of 1 month,3 months(± 7 days),6 months(± 7 days),8 months(± 7 days) and 12 months(± 7 days) were followed up. The growth and development of Children were evaluated by Z score. △Z score ≥ 0.67 was defined as catch-up growth.
Results ①The catch-up rate of body length at 1 month,3 months,6 months,8 months and 12 months was 60.42%,64.74%,57.69%,62.75% and 60.69%,respectively. It can be seen that 3 month is the key period for height to catch up with growth. The catch-up rate of body weight at 1 month,3 month,6 month,6 month,8 month and 12 month was 70.07%,72.78%,71.70%,67.52% and 65.33%,respectively. Compared with the catch-up rate of body length, the catch-up rate of body weight was mainly within 6 month, and the catch-up rate of body weight was significantly higher than that of height. ②The body weight and length of boys and girls in SGA group were lower than those in control group at the ages of 1 month,3 months,6 months,8 months and 12 months. The difference was statistically significant(
P<0.001).
Conclusion The full-term small for gestational age infants physically chase up obviously within the first year. They keep a higher chasing up speed especially in 6 months.
