Abstract:

Methods Oral examination was carried out on children aged 3-6 years old in 56 kindergartens in Shijingshan District of Beijing, and the incidence and prevalence of dental caries in different age groups were compared.
Results In 2018,14497 children completed oral examination. Among them,9184 children were diagnosed with caries. The prevalence of caries was 63.3%. The average of decayed-missing-filled tooth(DMFT) was 3.84 ±4.03. The prevalence of caries and the average of DMFT increased with age. The prevalence rates of dental caries in children aged 3,4,5 and 6 years old were 51.5%,63.4%,71.6% and 72.5%,respectively,and the DMFT was(2.53 ±3.32),(3.77 ±4.02),(4.72 ±4.20) and(5. 10 ±4. 23),respectively. The filling rate of caries teeth was 13. 77%,19. 51%,24.23% and 27.49%, respectively. The incidence of dental caries and DMFT were significantly different among different age groups.
Conclusion Children in Shijingshan district have high deciduous dental caries rate and low caries filling rate. Therefore, oral health education, comprehensive prevention and treatment of group children should be further strengthened. The correct understanding of deciduous dental caries of their parents should be improved.
