Abstract:
Objective To explore the psychological experience and needs of parents in child health care clinic under the context of Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) epidemics by phenomenological research.
Methods The semi-structured in-depth interview method and observation method were applied to conduct qualitative interviews with 17 parents from child health care clinic. With Nvivo8 software, Colaizzi analysis method and unified method were used to sort and analyze the information collected during the interview.
Result During the epidemic of COVID-19, for the parents from child health care clinic, their psychological experience and needs extracted into 4 themes: concerns about themselves and their families' physical and mental health, concerns about the impact of COVID-19 on children 's education, promotion of prevention awareness, and needs of COVID-19 knowledge and online service.
Conclusion Parents from child health care clinic have psychological experience as anxiety and depression under the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, and have a greater need for COVID-19 knowledge and online services. Therefore, nursing staff should strengthen parents' psychological counseling, personalize psychological care, education and guidance on parenting to promote parents' physical and mental health. The hospital should continue to provide online services to meet the needs of parents in all aspects.
