Abstract:
Objective To investigate knowledge, attitude and practice(KAP) of reproductive tract infections(RTIs) among married women of child-bearing age in rural areas of Jiangsu Province and analyze factors associated with it so as to provide evidence for public health policy making.
Methods Totally 263 rural married women of child-bearing age were investigated through questionnaire survey, the contents of the questionnaire included general information and their KAP of RTIs. The KAP scores were analyzed, and the influencing factors were analysed by ANOVA and multiplelinear regression.
Results The scores of KAP related to RTIs were(15. 41 ± 4. 50),(41. 16 ± 5. 85) and(55. 46 ± 6. 83), respectively. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that region, annual family income and separate bathroom were factors associated with knowledge of RTIs(
P< 0. 05). Age, job characteristics of women and their spouses and number of children were factors associated with health belief(
P< 0. 05). Region, annual family income and women's job characteristics were factors associated with health behavior(
P< 0. 05).
Conclusion Knowledge and health behavior of RTIs among rural married women of child-bearing age is acceptable, but their health belief needs to be improved. According to the characteristics of different factors associated with KAP, medical staff should carry out targeted and various forms of health education to promote the transformation of health belief among married women of childbearing age and therefore improve health behavior.
