Abstract:
Objective To investigate home nurture environment and factors associated with it among premature infants, so as to provide individualized parenting guidance.
Methods Premature infants and their parents who were hospitalized in the Neonatology Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from January 20 th, 2020 to December 20 th, 2020 were recruited as research subjects. "General Information Questionnaire" and "0-1 Years Child Home Nurture Environment Questionnaire" were used to collect information through WJX(a platform with the function of questionnaire making) by WeChat. Home nurture environment of premature infants was described and factors associated with it were analyzed.
Results A total of 60 premature infants less than 10 months old were involved in. "0-1 Years Child Home Nurture Environment Questionnaire" survey showed that the average total score of Home Nurture Environment Scale(HNES) was(121.63±13.73). Univariate analysis showed that among different socio-demographic factors, the mother's employment status, household monthly income per capita and the family's main caregiver had significant impact on the score of the HNES(
P<0.05). Logistics Regression Analysis illustrated that compared with the families that the mothers were on maternity leave, those families whose mothers were working had a higher risk of low score of HNES(
OR=3.791, 95%
CI:1.149-12.510); Compared with the families with a household monthly income per capita of 1 000-2 999 yuan or 3 000-4 999 yuan, those with a household monthly income per capita of 5 000-9 999 yuan or ≥ 10 000 yuan had a lower risk of low score of HNES(
OR=0.423, 95%
CI:0.228-0.787).
Conclusion The mother's maternity leave status, household monthly income per capita and main caregivers being parents have great influence on home nurture environment. Families with working mothers, low household monthly income per capita or caregivers being not parents should be paid more attentions on, so as to help them to construct better home nurture environment for the growth and development of children.
