Abstract:
Objective To explore the association between Interferon Regulatory Factor-6 (IRF-6) G820 A polymorphism and nonsyndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (NSCL/P) susceptibility.
Methods Literature searches of CNKI, CBM, Wan Fang, Pub Med, Medline and Science Direct database were conducted to identify the related case-control studies. Statistical analyses were conducted by the Rev Man 5. 3 software.
Results A total of 15 articles involving 7470 study subjects were finally included in the Meta analysis. Meta analysis results showed that the risks of having NSCL/P among Asian and American population with G allele were higher than those with A allele (for G

Conclusions IRF-6 gene G820 A polymorphism could be considered as a risk factor for NSCL/P among Asian and American population.
