Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of supplemental nutrients for 6-12-month-old children on nutritionaliron deficiency anemia.
Methods A total of 232 children borned during January 2014 to December 2015 in Xili community were selected and divided into two groups randomly.The children in control group were conducted normal feeding and health education,and the children in intervention group were conducted normal feeding,nutrient supplements and health education.The Hb,anemia rate and related influencing factors were observed before and after intervention.
Result Variance for repeated measurements of spherical test displayed
W=0.979,
P=0.085,which showed it satisfied aspherical test and can adopt univariate tests.
Ftime=77.254,
Ptime=0.0001,those indicated that the difference of data in different points was statistically significant;
Ftime*groups=51.777,
Ptime*groups=0.0001,those explained the interaction of time points and group.One-way ANOVA analysis showed the difference of Hb between the two groups before the intervention was not statistically significant,after 3 and 6 months intervention,Hb in intervention group was higher than that in control group,and the differences was statistically significant.The difference of the rate of anemia between the two groups was not statistically significant before the intervention,and it was statistically significant after the intervention.The rate of anemia of the two groups was decreased after intervention,and the difference in control group between the before and after the intervention was not statistically significant,and the difference in intervention group between the before and after the intervention was statistically significant.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that nutrient supplementation,motherhood anemia,artificial feeding and repeated diarrhea were the influencing factors of nutritional iron deficiency anemia in children.
Conclusion Nutrients can reduce the prevalence of nutritional iron deficiency anemia among 6-12-month-old children in community,and raising children' hemoglobin.
