Abstract:
Objective To investigate the incidence,clinical characteristics,epidemic characteristics and the main pathogenic subtypes of adenovirus infection among children with diarrhea in Nanshan District in Shenzhen City.
Methods Stool specimens from children with diarrhea under 5 years old treated in our hospital from Nanshan District in Shenzhen City were selected as the research object,the adenovirus nucleic acid was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method,and PCR positive amplification products were cloned and sequenced and the adenovirus genotyping was also studied.
Results Among the 516 cases of children with diarrhea under the age of 5,57 were detected with adenovirus infection,and the detection rate was 11.05%.The high-occurrence season was in March,April and August.The positive infection rate was the lowest in children with neonatal diarrhea and the difference of adenovirus infection among different ages was not statistically significant (
χ2=2.030,
P=0.730).57 cases with positive adenovirus were conducted gene sequencing,and it was found that 30 children with diarrhea were infected with group F Ad40 and Ad41 virus (52.63%).
Conclusion The incidence of diarrhea caused by Group F Ad40 and Ad41 virus infection is high in Nanshan District of Shenzhen city,relevant departments should increase the research and prevention of adenovirus infection diarrhea of group F.
