Abstract:
Objective To screen the developmental dysplasia of hip (DDH) among children with ultrasound and evaluate the clinical screening effect.
Methods Newborns, 42 days, 3 months, and ≤ 6 months infants were screened by general visual examination. Special screening, ultrasound (Graf method) were used to screen and diagnose DDH. The clinical screening effects were evaluated.
Results From January 2015 to April 2017, 1222 patients were screened from 0 to 6 months, including 606 boys and 616 girls. There were 1174 cases of normal hip (type I and IIA) and 48 cases of children with DDH, including 21 boys and 27 girls.Among them, 45 cases were type IIB and 3 cases were type IIC. The type IIB of hip joint sites were 26 in left and 26 in right, accounting for 50% and 50%, respectively. The type IIC of hip joint sites were 2 in left and 1 in right, accounting for 66.67% and 33.33%, respectively.
Conclusion It plays an important role for ultrasound technique (Graf method) in early screening of DDH in children. This method is simple, safe and economically effective.
