Abstract:
Objective To investigate the services ability of children's health care in primary health institutes of Liuzhou.
Methods The basic station of staffs, facilities and equipment were surveyed by a self-designed questionnaire.
Results A total of 27 primary health institutes in Liuzhou and 30 staff for child health care enrolled in this study. All staff were females, aged 21 to 53 years and the average age was 35. 4 (7. 83. The average working years of these staff was (4. 64. 6 ± 4. 48) years. Most of them (73. 3%) worked less than 5 years. The education background of child health workers was mainly junior college (60. 0%). The professional qualifications of all respondents were main primary title (50. 0%). Nobody had senior professional. The proportion of health workers with middle professional qualification was 23. 3%. Four professional workers had no professional qulification (13. 3%). The mainly major of them was clinical medicine (53. 3%), followed by nursing (30. 0%) and prevention medicine (10. 0%). The total areas of child health care in nine institutes (33. 3%) didn't reach the requirement of the Guangxi job specification of child health care (trial). 14. 7%, 22. 2%, 33. 3%, 22. 2% and 37. 0% of institute didn't implement high-risk infants follow-up, vision health care, oral health care, hearing health care or mental behavioral developmental assessment.
Conclusions It is necessary to improve the service ability of children's health care in in primary health institutes of Liuzhou. In order to ensure the quality of the services, it is necessary to strengthen the professional skills training, increase the number of child health workers, and the financial and infrastructure equipment inputs.
