Abstract:
Objective To explore gene polymorphisms of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677 T, A1298 C and methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) A66 G among Manchu and Han women in Liaoyuan city.
Methods A total of 273 cases of Han women and 100 cases of Manchu women in Liaoyuan were recruited in the study. Their oral epithelial cells were collected, followed by the extraction of genome DNA. The fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect gene polymorphisms of MTHFR and MTRR The distribution frequency of MTHFR and MTRR in Manchu and Han women were compared.
Results The frequency of MTHFR C677 T, A1298 C and MTRR A66 G was no significant difference between Manchu and Han women (
P> 0.05). However, there was statistical difference in the frequency of MTHFR A1298 C between Manchu and Han women (
P< 0.05).
Conclusion There was no difference in the polymorphism distribution of MTHFR and MTRR between Manchu and Han women in Liaoyuan city. It might be the similar national kinship or the sinicization of Manchu.
