Abstract:
Objective To understand the working situation of early diagnosis and detection about infant AIDS infection since Guangxi set up EID laboratory in July, 2014.
Methods The data collected by Guangxi EID laboratory was analyzed in study, the data of infants was from July to December, 2014.
Results During July to December, 2014, among all the samples Guangxi regional EID laboratory received, 267 was the first EID samples, 216 was the second EID samples. The proportions of the first samples collected within 42 days and 60 days after birth were 31. 09% (83/267) and 83. 52% (223/267). The proportions of the second samples collected within 90 days and 120 days after birth were 10. 19% (22/216) and 87. 96% (190/216). The rate of two samples detecting was 80. 90% (216/267). The median transportation times for the first samples and second samples were 5 days (range:0-25 days) and 6 days (range:0-18 days). There were 5 infants with both first and second samples being positive. The positive rate was 1. 87% (5/267).
Conclusions It should be further strengthened following-up and management of HIV-infected pregnant women and their infants, and improve samples collecting times and transportation times.
