Abstract:
Objective To investigate the age characteristics and subtype distribution of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection among females in Yancheng area.
Methods A total of 2187 women from gynecological clinic and women's health section who were screened HPV voluntarily were selected as study objects, their cervical exfoliated cells were took and PCR was used to detect the distribution of human papillomavirus.
Results The total HPV positive rate of the 2187 women was 21. 67% (474/2187), the infection rate of high-risk type was 20. 16% (441/2187), the single infection rate was 16. 37% (358/2187) and the multiple infection rate was 3. 80% (83/2187). There was no statistically significant difference in HPV positive detection rate among all age groups (
P> 0. 05). The difference of multiple infection rate in each age groups was statistically significant (
P< 0. 05).
Conclusion Compared with other areas, the prevalence of HPV in Yancheng area was different, and age was an important factor for HPV infection.
