Challenge and countermeasure of maternal and child health education Yunnan province in the Late 13th Five-Year plan period

Objective To analyses the deficiencies and problems of maternal and child health services, as well as the knowledge and behavioral factors affecting the health of women and children in the early 13 th Five-Year Plan period, then puts forward the countermeasure and measures for health education in the late 13 th Five-Year Plan period in Yunnan Province.Methods The requirements and strategies of health education in the national and provincial maternal and child health policy documents, the evaluation report/work report of the provincial basic and major maternal and child health projects in 2017, and the annual report of maternal and child health and related special reports were analyzed.Results Gaps remain in target population participating in maternal and child health care activities, which led to insufficient utilization of maternal and child health services along with challenges to women and children's health.Conclusions Due to the insufficient capacity building of health education in maternal and child health care institutions, it remains the lack of publicity and mobilization of projects and health services, and limit the health knowledge spreading and government's farmer-friendly policy dissemination.
