Study on the care burden and life satisfaction of preschool autistic children’s caregivers with health education

Objective To observe the effects of health education on the care burden and life satisfaction of preschool autistic children's childhood autism caregivers.Methods A total of 79 pre-school autistic children admitted by the rehabilitation department of our hospital from March 2016 to June 2018 were selected as subjects of this study, and their caregivers (mothers or fathers) received health education. The care burden and life satisfaction of the caregivers were compared before and after health education. Result After the health education, the score of autistic children's personality traits scale was lower than that before education. There were statistical differences in social skills, attention to detail and communication, and no differences in attention transfer ability and imagination before and after health education. The scores of ZBI and LSIA of the caregivers after education were significantly better than those before education, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Health education can effectively reduce the burden of care for caregivers of preschool children with autism and improve their life satisfaction, which is worthy of application and promotion.
