Abstract
Objective To analyze the follow-up status and intervention results of children born to pregnant women with HIV infection in Quanzhou, and to improve the quality of prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.Methods The children born to pregnant women with HIV infection in Quanzhou from October 2010 to September 2017 were followed up, and the follow-up intervention results were descriptively analyzed. Results The percentage of a weight-for-age, length-for-age, and weight-for-length that the results of evaluation is“lower”of 49 HIV-infected pregnant women at the age of 12 months was 75.51%, 83.67% and 83.67%, respectively. One hundred percent of children are fed artificially, without breastfeeding and mixed feeding. Only 6.12% of children did not have complementary food supplements. As of the age of 12 months, 91.84% of the children were vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine, 55.10% of the children were vaccinated with DPT vaccine, and 48 (97.96%) children were tested for early diagnosis of HIV-infected infants and 12-month-old HIV antibody screening test. The test results were all negative. Forty four cases of HIV infection were excluded after 18 months of HIV antibody screening test, and 4 cases (less than 18 months old) were to be excluded. Conclusion Although the current implementation of AIDS interventions is good and effective in preventing mother-to-child transmission of AIDS, however, the children's growth and development and vaccination status cannot be ignored.
