Ten-year analysis of dental caries among preschool children in Haidian District

  • Objective To analyze the oral health status and change trend of preschool children in Haidian District of Beijing from 2008 to 2017,and to provide basis for formulating and adjusting policies and interventions.Methods Statistical annual reports of physical examination of preschool children in Haidian District from 2008 to 2017 were collected by Beijing Maternal and Child Health Network Information System. Statistical analysis was carried out by PSS20. 0. Trend Chi-square test was used to evaluate the annual trend of caries incidence.Results In Haidian District,the incidence of caries and caries of preschool children in 2017 were 55. 92% and 2. 90,respectively,which increased by 10. 68% and 0. 8,respectively compared with 2008. In 2017,the dental caries correction rate (person) and filling rate (tooth) of preschool children were 56. 45% and 44. 89%,respectively,which decreased by 10. 94%and 12. 69% compared with 2008.Conclusion From 2008 to 2017,the caries incidence and caries of preschool children in Haidian District showed an upward trend,while the dental caries correction rate (human) and filling rate (teeth) showed a downward trend. In order to ensure children's physical and mental health,it is necessary to strengthen the propaganda and education of oral health knowledge,increase the investment of technology and funds,promote effective,economic and appropriate caries prevention technology in kindergartens,and reduce the incidence of deciduous teeth caries.
