Analysis of HPV infection among women in hospital

  • Objective To analyze and discuss the infection of human papilloma virus (HPV) among women in a hospital in Chaonan District of Shantou City. Methods A total of 1547 women from the obstetrics and gynaecology clinics for clinical treatment and health examination were enrolled in the study. The specimens of cervical exfoliated cells were collected and the genotypes of HPV were detected by Luminex 200 flow cytometry. Results The infection rate of HPV of the participants was 14. 87% (230/1547),and 249 cases were infected. Among them, the high-risk HPV infection rate was 13. 06%. HPV 52,16,58 subtypes accounted for the highest proportion. The low-risk HPV infection rate was 1. 81%,and HPV 81,11,43 subtypes accounted for the highest proportion. The HPV infection rate and the infection rate of HPV 52,16,58 subtypes in outpatients were significantly higher than those in healthy women (P< 0. 05). There were significant differences in HPV infection rate,high-risk HPV infection rate and multiple infection rate among different age groups (P< 0. 05).Conclusion The infection rate of outpatients was higher than that of women for health examination. The HPV infection rate increased with the age of women.
