Survey on the health status of children in 4 child-care institutions in Huaihua City, 2017-2019

Objective To understand the health status of children in four child-care institutions and the dynamic changes of recent years,to identify the health problems of children and to provide a basis for the health care work of the four child-care institutions in the future.Methods Using the uniform national medical examination standards and methods, the height and weight of children weremeasured,while the dental caries, vision, hemoglobin, micronutrients wereexamined, and the data of children's health examination of 4 child care institutions in Huaihua City from 2017 to 2019 were analyzed.Results From 2017 to 2019,children in 4 child-care institutions in Huaihua City had good physical development. The height and a medium weight level were more than 90%,with a growth retardation detection rate of 0. 87%,and a low-weight detection rate of 2. 56%. Itshowed a year-on-year downward trend (P<0. 05). The main health problems of the four child-care institutions in Huaihua City in 2017-2019 were dental caries (38. 64%),zinc deficiency (16. 02%),calcium deficiency (9. 44%),vision abnormalities (6. 42%). The rate of tooth decay detection was higher in girlsthan in boys and it increased with age and years (P<0. 01). Visual abnormalities fluctuated with the growth of the year (P<0. 05). The total zinc deficiency detection rate of children decreased year by year (P<0. 01),and increased year by year with the increase of age (P<0. 01).Conclusion The health level of children in the 4 child-care institutions in Huaihua City has been improving year by year. The next step is to focus on the prevention and control of childhood dental caries,vision abnormalities,micronutrient deficiencies and other health problems. the child-care institutions and parents of children to do a good job of health education on health issues,to guide the child-care institutions to scientifically formulate one-day living arrangements and dietary nutrition,To establish a project for troubled children to strengthen follow-up management. It is necessaryto do health education on health problems for kindergartens and parents,guide kindergartens to scientifically formulate daily living arrangements and dietary nutrition,and set up projects for problem children to strengthen follow-up management.
