Advances in the study of epidemiology of stillbirth

  • Over the last 30 years, substantial progress has been made in maternal and child health around the world. Stillbirth has been largely ignored in public health programmes, despite the similar importance to child survival and safe motherhood. Understanding the epidemic situation, causes, high risk factors and intervention measures of stillbirth can provide more scientific basis for the formulation of prevention and control strategies and measures, and can partly reduce maternal and neonatal mortality. The research progress of epidemiology of stillbirth is reviewed in this article.
