Abstract
Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome(NRDS) is a common emergency and critical illness in neonatology, with a high mortality and morbidity rate. It is more likely to occur in premature infants. Vitamin D has an important clinical significance in the occurrence and development of NRDS, and vitamin D deficiency is an independent risk factor for its occurrence. Previous studies have found that vitamin D deficiency or insufficient was common in newborns. Vitamin D can promote the synthesis and secretion of alveolar active substances, participate in the maturation of alveoli and the development of pulmonary blood vessels, thus, reduce the risk of NRDS. This essay reviews the related researches of vitamin D in NRDS, with a view to clinically attach importance to vitamin D supplementation, so as to provide reference for reducing the risk of this disease.
