Baby-friendly hospital initiative in China:retrospect and prospect

It has been 30 years since China joined the International Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in 1992. Currently,more than 7 000 baby-friendly hospitals were established after experiencing the stages of early exploration,early creation,comprehensive creation and review and innovation. Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in China has played a positive role in promoting maternal and child health,including better integration of health care and clinical work,more rational utilization of maternal and child health resources,and better services for Chinese women and children. With the development of our society and growth of people's living standard,the connotation of Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative is extending. It is necessary to generalize previous experiences and explore the challenges to keep sustainable development of Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative in China.
