Analysis of capability of grassroots children’s health services in Luohu District,Shenzhen

Objective To understand the capability of community child health service in Luohu District,Shenzhen in order to improve the health of children in the jurisdiction and to provide evidence for health policy making.Methods Data were derived from the annual supervision of basic public health work of Luohu District community health centers in December 2015 and December 2020.The status of child health service facilities and work contents were analyzed and compared.Results Compared with 2015,the area of children’s health care room in Luohu District Community Health Center was significantly increased in 2020(χ²=22.308,P<0.001).The attainment rate of setting up standardized outpatient clinics (including providing vision screening instrument and independent vision screening rooms) in 2020 was higher(45.00%) than that in 2015 (5.25%)(χ²=16.139,P<0.001).Compared with 2015,the working contents of children’s health care in community health centers in 2020 were increased,including developmental screening,follow-up and project management of high-risk children.At the same time,children’s health-related indicators in 2020 such as0-6 years child health management rate,0-3 years child systematic management rate,etc,had been improved compared with 2015(all P<0.05).Conclusion The existing equipment,service content and work quality of community health centers in Luohu District has been improved significantly in the past five years.But the equipment was still insufficient in some commuraty health center.In addtion,the service quality and service capability of intelligent development screening and the project management of high-risk children needs to be further improved.
