Practice of strengthening the construction of key specialty platform of Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital in Guizhou Province

In order to practice “patient-centered” service concept and improve the quality of health services for women and children in health care institutions, Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital carried out exploration and research on construction of key specialty platforms with the purpose of innovating medical service models from 2019 to 2021. At present, five major diagnosis & treatment service centers have been built to provide high-level medical services for women and children, including fetal medical center, children’s heart disease diagnosis & treatment center, children’s sedation center, children’s rare disease diagnosis & treatment center, and female tumor screening, diagnosis & treatment center. It creates a new model of multi-centered medical services within Guizhou Province, coordinates development of specialties in hospitals with simultaneous improvement of service capabilities, and lays a foundation for meeting new needs of women and children’s medical services in the new era. This paper introduces the experiences and achievements of its exploration and practice, so as to provide evidences for domestic counterparts.
