Abstract
Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors of the female lower reproductive tract, and its prevention mainly relies on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination. With the development and widespread use of HPV vaccines, the vaccination has been proven effective and safe in preventing cervical precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. High coverage of HPV vaccines among younger females can produce significant public health benefits. HPV vaccination has been listed as one of the key measures to prevent cervical cancer. However, the HPV vaccination rate in China remains relatively low. To increase the HPV vaccination rate, China has been actively developing strategies and expanding technologies under the guidance of national policies. In recent years, many provinces and cities in China have launched government-led people’s welfare projects, implementing HPV vaccination programs that provide free HPV vaccination services for age-eligible girls in their regions. Through the cooperation of governments, communities, schools, and medical institutions, higher HPV vaccination coverage among age-eligible females can be achieved.
