Implications of the practices of the Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research for China’s international cooperation in the field of women’s and children’s health

  • Under the framework of building a community of health for mankind, China has continuously deepened global cooperation on women and children’s health through building the Silk Road of Health. In the meantime, China’s current international cooperation practice faces challenges. The practices and experiences of the Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research (Global Network) can be learned by us to optimize China’s practice. This study used case study to systematically analyze the organizational structure, operation mode, financing channels, and practical characteristics of the (Global Network) of the United States. Based on the case study and the current status of China’s international cooperation on women and children’s health, the following suggestions are made: establishing an global research network on women’s and children’s health in China, setting up a national-level coordinating platform, enriching channels and sources for international cooperation, promoting China’s unique experiences and solutions internationally, enhancing cooperation in data collection scientific research, and increasing cooperation and exchanges with international organizations. This research provides a theoretical basis for optimizing China’s practices in global health governance and have practical reference value for improving the international cooperation mechanism on women and children’s health.
