Changes of cesarean section rate and indications of cesarean section in Jiaxian maternal and child health hospital of Henan province among 8 years

Objective To analyze the changes of cesarean section rate and the factors for the increase of cesarean section rate during 2006 and 2013 in Jiaxian maternal and child health hospital.Methods Medical records of 11 390 cases with cesarean section in the hospital from 2006 to 2013 were analyzed.Results The rate of cesarean section increased year by year from 2006 to 2010, and reached the peak in 2010, then decreased slightly from 2010 to 2013. Scar uterus was located in the first place of all the cesarean section indications; the change trend of social factors was same to cesarean section rate.Conclusion Along with the development of social economy, the cultural background and the transformation of medical service mode, the indication of cesarean section is far beyond the medical indication; it should be paid more attention on the influence of social factors and scar uterus on cesarean section rate.
