Correlation between self-concept of Kazak girls and their mothers' parenting concept

  • Objective To investigate the effect of Kazak mothers' parenting concept on girls' growth.Methods "Children's self-concept scale" and "Mother parenting concept questionnaire" were used in this study and 183 Kazak girls and their mothers participated in the survey, and the girls were come from Tacheng, Xinjiang region. The girls completed the contents of their behavior problems, schools, intelligence, body appearance, anxiety, sociable, happiness and satisfaction. The mother s completed the related question of their parenting concept.Results (1) The Kazak mother's l degree and occupation affected on girls' self-concept, and the differences were statistically significant (P< 0. 05); (2) Mothers' parenting concept was different among the mothers with different degree (P< 0. 05); (3) Mothers' parenting concept was positively related to girls' self-concept.Conclusion Kazak mothers' parenting concept affected on girls' growth.
