Etiology of chronic cervicitis and related risk factors

Objective To investigate the etiology of chronic cervicitis and its related risk factors.Methods One hundred patients with chronic cervicitis treated in Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Shenzhen City from January 2015 to January 2016 were selected as case group,and 120 healthy women examined in this hospital during the same period were selected as study group.All the subjects were answered the questionnaire included the degree of education,number of abortion,age,age of the first sex life,number of sexual partners,age of first pregnancy,contraceptive methods and so on.The related factors of chronic cervicitis were analyzed by casecontrol study method.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors of chronic cervicitis.Results The univariate analysis showed that case group had higher proportion than that in control group in abortion more than 3 times,the first sexual life lower than 18 years,sexual partners more than 2 and spouse redundant prepuce,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that abortion more than 3 times,the first sexual life lower than 18 years,sexual partners more than 2 and spouse redundant prepuce was the risk factor of chronic cervicitis (P<0.05).Conclusion In order to prevent the occurrence of chronic cervicitis,propaganda and education of reproductive health and hygiene knowledge should be strengthened and avoiding premature sexual life and premarital pregnancy.
