Investigate of mental health and countermeasures on patients with ovarian cancer chemotherapy period

Objective To investigate the mental health status and countermeasures on patients with ovarian cancer chemotherapy period.Methods The data of 89 patients with ovarian cancer chemotherapy period were retrospective analyzed,and the patients were treated in our Hospitals during January 2011 to June 2013.Self-evaluation of the anxiety scale(SAS) was used to assess the state of anxiety,depression self rating scale(SDS) was used to assess depression. According to the anxiety state,were divided into anxiety group and the group A; the patients were divided into depression group and B group according to their depression state. After 3 years' followed up,the mental health status and survival conditions of the patients during chemotherapy were analyzed.Results Among the patients,62 cases were anxiety and the anxiety rate was 69.63%; 49 cases were depression and the depression rate was 55.06%. The 3 years' survival rate and the median survival time in anxiety group were lower than those in group A,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05); The 3 years' survival rate and the median survival time in depression group were lower than those in group B,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Most of the ovarian cancer patients during chemotherapy were anxiety or depression,the bad mood and the adverse psychological conditions were associated with prognosis poor survival,physicians should give psychological intervention at the same time of the chemotherapy for patient.
