Effects of prenatal education for pregnant women on childbirth

Objective To study the effect of prenatal education for pregnant women on natural childbirth.Methods During March 2013 to September 2014, 600 cases of pregnant women in the Sixth People's Hospital of Huizhou city were recruited as research subjects, and they were randomized into education group and control group using random number table method completely with 300 cases in each group. The pregnant women in control group were received routine prenatal education and guidance, while the pregnant women in education group were received prenatal education after giving the cards, the information of maternity way, related social factors of caesarean section, the huge children, gestational hypertension were collected.Results The proportion of pregnant women with vaginal delivery in education group was 75.00%, which was higher than that in control group (51.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (χ²=37.0656, P=0.0000); In educational group, the influence rate of social factors was 24.00% for pregnant women with cesarean, which was lower than that in control group (52.38%), and the difference was statistically significant (χ²=17.4157, P=0.0000). The overall incidence of pregnancy complications for pregnant women in education group was 15.00%, which was lower than that in control group (27.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (χ²=13.0199, P=0.0003).Conclusion Prenatal education can improve the rate of natural birth for pregnant women and reduce the overall incidence of pregnancy complications, the method is worthy of clinical application.
