Analysis of prenatal ultrasound diagnosis and prognosis of fetal intra-abdominal venous anomaly

  • Objective To explore the prenatal ultrasound diagnosis and prognosis of fetal intra-abdominal venous anomaly.Methods Clinical data of 57 cases of fetuses diagnosed with abnormal internal umbilical vein by prenatal ultrasound examination in our hospital were retrospective analyzed. The pregnancy outcomes of fetal were observed.Results Among 57 fetuses diagnosed with abnormal internal umbilical vein by prenatal ultrasound examination, 45 cases were diagnosed with permanent right umbilical vein. The prenatal ultrasound showed that the umbilical vein was located on the right side of the gallbladder. Five cases were abnormal umbilical vein with absence of ductus venosus. The prenatal ultrasound showed that the fetal umbilical vein entered the abdominal cavity and then returned to the inferior vena cava or right atrium. Five cases were fetal umbilical vein widened. The prenatal ultrasonography showed all of fetal umbilical vein were widened. Among them, 3 cases were limitations aneurysmal dilatation and 2 cases were diffuse dilatation.In addition, there were 2 fetuses with mbilical vein and hepatic vein fistula. The prenatal ultrasound showed the fetuses with ductus venosus, hepatic vein and umbilical vein traffic. The prognosis of the fetus was observed and followed up. 46 fetuses were not associated with other malformations and the results of prognosis were well. Nine fetuses complicated with other malformations. Among them, 7 cases with severe deformity suffered from induced labor and 2 cases were lost to follow-up.Conclusion The prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of fetal intra-abdominal venous anomaly has characteristic performance. The fetal prognosis was associated with severe malformations.
