Abstract
Objective To understand the status and problems of human resources for children's health care at basing institutions in Enshi, and find interventions to improve the service capacity for children's health care of basing institutions.Methods "children's health care questionnaire for rural children in Enshi" was formulated according to the "National Code for Children's Health", and then the questionnaire was issued and conducted for survey. The data was analyzed by using WPS Excel.Results There were 111 children health workers in 91 townships. The age of the workers less than 35 years was accounted for 45. 05%. The years working for children's health between 2 months and 3 years were accounted for 49. 55%. Half of the staffs have no establishment. 83. 78% of the staffs were college and below the level, and 57. 66% of them were nursing profession. 29. 73% of them have no title. Only 13. 51% of them have physician qualification certificate. Nearly 1/3 of them did not participate in any training.Conclusion Children's health care staffs in township of Enshi are inadequate and the team is unstable, the professional structure is unreasonable. The practicing physicians are also lack. The government should be appropriate to increase the staff to stabilize the team, and equip staff according to the proportion of population in the district, and gradually improve the professional structure of children's health personnel, and strengthen the professional technical project training for children's health to meet the requirements and development of child health medicine in new period.
